About Foldwork

Foldwork is a small set of PDF tools built to do one job well: let you merge, split, rotate, watermark and convert PDF files without installing anything, creating an account, or sending your documents to a server.

Every tool on this site runs inside your own browser tab. When you drop in a file, the processing — reading pages, redrawing them, rebuilding the PDF — happens on your device using open-source libraries (pdf-lib and pdf.js). The file never crosses the network, and once you close the tab, nothing is kept.

The project is maintained by an independent developer, reachable through the contact page. It's free to use; the site supports itself through the advertising you may see alongside the tools.

Why it exists

Most online PDF tools ask you to upload a file to a stranger's server first. For anything sensitive — a contract, an ID scan, a medical form — that's a real trust problem. Foldwork exists so the convenient option and the private option can be the same one.
